Troubleshooting
Start with the workspace name, the page you are viewing, and its current filters. Many apparent data problems come from the wrong workspace, campus, or date range.
I cannot find a page or action
Use the sidebar on a computer or the bottom task bar and More on a phone. Search can also find pages, metrics, dashboards, and reports. See Find your way around.
Some actions require an owner or administrator. Editing controls can also be unavailable when a workspace is read-only. Ask an administrator to confirm your role and campus access if an expected action is missing.
A chart or report has no data
Check these in order:
- Confirm the workspace in the navigation header.
- Open the metric itself and check whether it has entries.
- Compare the entry dates with the dashboard or report date range.
- Check campus and partition filters.
- For imported data, review the source's last sync and any errors under Integrations.
A missing entry and an entry with a value of zero mean different things. Enter zero when a measurement was taken and its result was zero. Do not enter zero merely to hide a missing-data state.
A widget says Restricted or a metric is missing
The metric has a restricted audience that does not include you. Owners and administrators can review Who can see this metric on the metric and Who can see this category on its category and each parent category. See Control who can see a metric.
On a public link or embed, the content shows what its creator can see. If that person has left or lost access, ask someone with access to create the link or embed again.
A total differs from what I expected
Check the metric's aggregation method, the selected date range, and any breakdown filters. Summing a series, averaging its values, and using a last recorded value can produce different answers from the same entries.
For calculated metrics, check the source metrics and calculation. For reports, review the report's parameters as well as its selected metrics. See Manage metrics and Create reports.
I cannot add a metric to a data entry form
Forms group measurements that can share the form's breakdown structure. An incompatible partition configuration can prevent a metric from being added. Review the metric's partition types and use a separate form when the collection structure differs.
Calculated metrics are derived from other metrics; collect their source values instead. See Collect data.
My form has unsaved changes
Keep the page open and inspect validation messages. Use the form's save action after correcting the affected fields. If an error reports a failed save, verify the saved entries before entering the same values again.
On a phone, scroll within the form if a control is out of view. The bottom navigation changes pages; it does not save your form.
An integration is connected but no measurements arrive
A connection establishes access to the provider. It does not mean every source has been selected or scheduled.
- In Rock setup, finish matching campuses and service times, selecting measurements, and reviewing the proposed setup.
- In Planning Center, choose data sources and review their schedule state. A saved source can still be paused.
- Inspect errors and recent sync activity before reconnecting. Repeated reconnects do not resolve missing provider permissions or a source that has not been configured.
If Planning Center shows that access was revoked or has expired, choose Reconnect on its card. See Reconnect when access is revoked.
A Rock attendance measurement that seems low may be working as designed: it counts only people who were checked in. See What the standard measurements count.
Follow Connect Rock RMS or Connect Planning Center for provider-specific recovery.
A report export looks different from the page
The report template controls the exported layout. Check the report's selected template, filters, and parameters. Preview a custom template with representative data before sharing it.
If a template variable produces no content, check that the data is included in the report. See Create reports.
A scheduled report stopped arriving
Open the report, choose Manage schedule, and read the schedule's status.
- Paused with a reason: the creator lost access, or every recipient unsubscribed. Review the recipients and choose Resume schedule.
- Last delivery failed: Graphit retries automatically, then waits for the next scheduled time. Check the reason and the recipient addresses.
- Neither: check the recipient's spam folder, and whether they used Unsubscribe from this report.
See Schedule regular delivery.
The assistant gives an incomplete or unexpected answer
- Expand Context to inspect the page and filters included with the question.
- Name the metric, campus, and time period explicitly.
- Ask one concrete question at a time.
- Check important values against the source metric or report.
Draft and Find starters place text in the composer for review. Explore suggestions send their question immediately. Drafted changes still need review and confirmation when an action is offered. See Work with the assistant.
If the assistant is unavailable, review the displayed message and workspace settings. Some requests need a configured integration or a role with additional access.
What to include when reporting a problem
Record the page, approximate time, selected workspace, active filters, exact error text, and steps that led to the problem. Include a screenshot of the affected area if useful. Remove private data and credentials before sharing it. Send it to support@graphit.io.
