Glossary

Workspace

The organization's Graphit environment: its people, settings, metrics, dashboards, reports, and connections. Switch workspaces from the organization selector when your account belongs to more than one.

Metric

A named measurement, such as worship attendance or fund giving. Its definition includes a unit and how values are combined. A metric's entries hold its actual measurements. See Manage metrics.

Entry

A recorded value for a metric at a particular date, with any applicable campus and breakdown values. An entry with zero is a measurement; an absent entry is missing data.

Aggregation

The rule used to combine multiple values, such as summing values or taking an average. Use a rule that matches the meaning of the measurement.

Calculated metric

A metric whose values are derived from other metrics through a calculation. Enter or sync the source measurements rather than manually collecting the calculated result.

Category

A subject group used to organize metrics and other supported items. Attendance and giving are examples. A category helps people find related work; it does not split an individual measurement into separate values.

Audience

The roles and people allowed to see a category or metric. A restricted audience hides those metrics from everyone else; owners and administrators always have access. A metric's audience can only narrow its category's. See Control who can see a metric.

Partition type and partition value

A partition type is a dimension used to break down metric data, such as service time. Its values are the individual choices, such as 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. A metric can use the partition types appropriate to its collection process.

Campus

An organizational location associated with data and user access. Campuses also have timezone settings. A campus filter narrows the data being shown.

Data entry form

A reusable collection screen that brings compatible metrics together. A form definition chooses what to collect; filling it records the measurements. See Collect data.

Dashboard and widget

A dashboard is a saved arrangement of visualizations. Each widget displays selected data in a particular form, such as a chart, number, or table. Date and campus filters can change what its widgets show. See Build dashboards.

Report

A saved selection of metrics and parameters for repeatable output. Reports support sharing and supported export or delivery actions. See Create reports.

Report template

The layout used to render report output. A template defines presentation; the report supplies the selected metrics and parameters. Without a template, PDFs use Graphit's built-in table layout.

Report schedule

A recurring email delivery of a report, with its frequency, time, format, and recipients. A schedule can be paused and resumed, and pauses itself when its creator loses access or every recipient unsubscribes. See Schedule regular delivery.

Standard measurement

A metric definition that Graphit creates in Rock for you, such as Weekend Attendance or Giving. Rock calculates its values; Graphit can update the definition when it improves the template, unless your church has changed the metric in Rock. See What the standard measurements count.

Integration

A connection between Graphit and another system. Connecting a provider and configuring the sources that feed metrics are separate steps.

Data source or measurement

A configured selection of provider data that Graphit can import into metrics. The terminology and available choices depend on the provider. Review the source mapping, schedule, and sync status when troubleshooting imported data.

Sync

An attempt to read configured provider data and update Graphit. A connection can be healthy while an individual source is paused, misconfigured, or failing.

Annotation

An event, holiday, or campaign marker shown on supported charts to help explain changes over time.

Assistant context

The page and supported filters sent with your next assistant question. Open Context in the assistant to see what is included. It is not a guarantee that every visible item has been read or interpreted. See Work with the assistant.

Draft

An unsaved proposal prepared for review. In the assistant, a draft does not mean a dashboard, report, or other change has already been applied. Review the proposed action and confirm it when you are ready.
